Fuck the BEST OF list...shit man, I can't be bothered to come out with that sort of thing la...one, I don't have enough information and two, everybody's probably done it so why should I?
Yeah I'm lazy actually......
Or, my life has become too routine for me to have any enthusiasm for this sort of thing......
Then again, I can't help but to talk about movies...just in the mood for it...
Like I said in the previous post, I've been to watching more movies in the cinema than the past 22 years combined......but most of those are typical Hollywood movies with the least originality. I found that I was not as passionate about those award-winning, artsy fartsy movies like I used to 3 years ago......
Then again, I'm too busy working to notice any good releases......
Or, the local cinemas don't show any good dramas......OK there's the European Film Festival at GSC but even if they get past the censors (which a lot of good dramas don't because they all have some amount of nudity or swearing) the end products are all "cut up"......
That's really fucked up for a self confessed film buff like me to fully enjoy a movie in its entirety...that's why I intentionally missed "Knocked Up" when it's showing the cinemas, coz' there's no bloody way I 'd enjoy something so cut up like that.....Will be getting the DVD soon though......
Speaking of which, that's where pirated DVDs save the day...I must say, I spend an almost equal amount of money on DVDs than to the cinemas...but the DVDs bought are purely films that are otherwise unavailable through the legal channels......
What would we do without the pirates...... :P
There's some great comedies last year too...the Judd Apatow variation that's brilliant but can have about 200 "fucks" in just one movie....
Anyways, here's some movies that I watched in the past year that was quite enjoyable and entertaining, and recommended to anyone else:
And lastly, to avoid at all cost, even a rental: Epic Movie. Easily the most crappy movie I wasted RM10 on.
The 2008 film lineup looks interesting enough. Let's keep the fingers crossed.
Well I blogged enough. Until next time. Chiao.
